The MDRS Mission

Mars is the planet that has been attracting humanity those last years. So, why should we explore Mars ?

There are 3 reasons :

For the research on the geological similarities between the Earth and Mars
For the global cooperation : going to Mars is extremely difficult and a single nation could not achieve such a feat
For the technological milestone it represents

In order to prepare such missions to another planet or to space, we must tackle the pysiological aspect (our bodies being exposed to radiations, impact of long-term microgravity), the psycological aspect that comes with isolation and the technological aspect of sending people in those hostile environnement. Simulating space’s conditions for the body is impossible for more than 20s, so it’s extremely hard to study the effect of such mission after a long exposure. However, we can recreate the confinement and test the experiments that could one day be useful to humanity when exploring space.
